That's why we are gathered here today. The environmental sector is not just Semarnat (National Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources); it also includes Conagua (National Water Commission), Conabio (National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity), Profepa (Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection), INECC (National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change), and Conafor (National Forestry Commission). In the eight months since I took on this role, I have faced the challenge of uniting these organizations to tackle the significant tasks that Dr. Sarukhán highlighted. I believe we are at a pivotal moment full of opportunities.
